Ecrio’s iota^TM  VoLTE Software to Integrate with GCT’s Hybrid IoT Solution

LAS VEGAS, January 09, 2018 – Ecrio, the leading provider of LTE real time communications client software, and GCT Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, announced today their partnership to deliver VoLTE over Cat-M1. Ecrio’s iota, the highly optimized VoLTE software for IoT, will be integrated into GCT’s GDM7243i system-on-a-chip LTE solution.

Built on the FlexIMS™ architecture, Ecrio’s iota brings security, messaging & communication to the Internet of Things (IoT). iota is compliant with IMS/VoLTE standards targeting LTE Cat-M1 devices. It is ideal for resource limited devices such as wearables, PoS terminals, parking meters and alarm panels requiring voice calling capability. iota is optimized for Real Time OS (RTOS) and fully leverages Ecrio’s deep expertise in IMS and VoLTE with over a decade of product deployments across device platforms.

GCT Semiconductor’s GDM7243i is optimized for IoT applications and supports two complementary connectivity modes including LTE Category M1, NB1 and EC-GSM, as well as Sigfox wireless IoT connectivity, making it a “hybrid” solution offering superior connectivity options for IoT applications with zero bill of materials (BOM) cost increase. With its ultra long battery life, GDM7243i is ideally suited for IoT devices for applications such as tracking, wearables, security, agriculture, healthcare, industrial and more.
